Do the oppressed have an epistemic advantage when it comes to knowing about systems that oppress them? If so, what explains this advantage? In paper, I consider whether can be derived from oppressed's contingent tendency more relevant experiences and motivation than non-oppressed; or, alternatively, derives very lived experience, thus being in principle unavailable non-oppressed. then explore potential role of knowledge-how for explaining advantage. Ultimately, conclude tend a advantage, while rejecting they one principle, except their phenomenological experience has effect on veracity claims make. This important upshot privileged people are not epistemically disadvantaged often blameworthy ignorance oppression.
